Comments:
IC-7300 and modified Commander amp to M2 6M7JHV at 55'. Over 98% analog, and
pretty much only FT8 to get a couple of grids and DX. Roughly 950 SSB, 100+ CW
and 18 FT8. But the hassle of removing the few digital QSOs just isn't worth
it...
Working SSB is so neat despite my less-than-perfect voice. Many short chats,
including a few who were in the midst of their first 6M QSO. Penetration into
the noise is fine for single hop Es, but the digital modes are much better with
weak signals. Only shut down once for thunderstorms and static was much more
bearable this year. Chose to just watch for quite a few hours instead of making
digital Qs. Saw the first JAs of the season - incredible to be this late.
Although 6M was open most of the contest, only two hours above 65 QSOs were
recorded.
Rovers were plentiful and very welcome here. Great work!
Those ops well north of us were treated to lots of juicy DX the Monday
afterward, but not down here...
