Comments:
I tried to join the FT4 fun from Hawaii. I saw stations from Brazil and Japan
calling AJ6V at the beginning on 15 meters and one JA calling N6ZFO also on 15.
The one JA calling CQ TEST could not hear me. Nothing at all heard on 20.
20 from KH6 is much worse in the early to mid afternoon to the mainland than I
would have expected. It gives me new appreciation for the KH6 ops that
participate in contests and also reinforces the value of local knowledge and
experience when it comes to band conditions.
Compromise portable setup with linked dipole set up as inverted vee on
fiberglass mast on condo deck. Hope everyone had fun. See you again soon. 73,
Mark W6IA
Note: 3830 would not allow me to submit a zero score so listed a score of ONE.
