Comments:
The Proton Alert ended in the early hours, and
solar activity is quite low compared to recent
weeks. X-ray background just B6-level. Aurora
had already settled, but signals were very weak
on both 14/21 MHz. One of the rare occasions that
I had to switch back down to 14 MHz at the end of
a 1300Z session with only 6 Qs gathered on 21 MHz.
It was statistics, but I have never had so many
callers on top of each other for such a long time
on my own 14 MHz run. I missed probably HB9AJY in
the mess, and some stations gave me exchanges in
parallel. I noticed a similar situation later in
the pile-up of John P40L on 21 MHz, and I was
lucky to get through myself. Allan VK2GR was my
only Eastward DX on 14 MHz.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
