Well, this Winter Field Day was almost over before it began. The weather was
awful, so being able to set up safely was in question. I brought my easiest to
set up radio and antenna and finally found a spot. I had an intermittent coax
issue, but it was usable enough, so I was able to make contacts anyway and dig
into the repair after the event.
I generally sent at around 22-24 WPM, and there were lots of stations at lots of
different CW speeds and skill levels, which is just as it should be at an event
like this. I was pleased at how many stations I could hear, and some of them
were booming. I got asked for a lot of repeats -- not sure if it was my coax
issue or that my report was 1M, which is a legal report for the first time this
year.
