K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC.
In ARRL RTTY N3UM and W5MPB did Multi-1 HP. We hoped to do
Multi-2; our old K3 with Signalink did RTTY FB recently. But at
~17Z it would receive and key, but no Tx power. Remedies and rig-
swaps failed; we fell back to Multi-1 and started 2.2 hrs. late.
On 20 M 20-23Z, N3UM ran for 32 Qs, then W5MPB ran for 67 Qs, and
N3UM ran for 11 more. At 23Z we had 110 NA Qs and 35 St/Pv mults,
59% of our final total.
On 40 M 2304-0019Z N3UM ran for 62 of 67 NA and EU Qs and 11 first
DX mults and quit to return early. W5MPB clicked spots for 88 Qs
and 18 DX mults 0138 to 0506Z QRT.
Back at 13Z N3UM ran for 28 of 33 20-M Qs by 1342Z, mostly EUs.
He ran on 15 M for 11 of 34 Qs by 1442Z, then got 20 10-M EU Qs by
1523Z. On 20 M 1549-1745Z W5MPB got 46 EU and NA Qs.
>From 18Z to 24Z QRT we got just 5 mults; we hopped among 4 bands
to get Qs. N3UM ran on 20 M 1801-1917 for 63 Qs, 50/hr. W5MPB
then got 33 Qs on 15 M. N3UM got 29 Qs in 80 min. on 15, 20, and
40 M, then W5MPB got 21 Qs on 40 and 80 M in the last hour.
We missed DE, VT, WY, and 5 of the 14 VE Pvs. Of our 59 DX mults 39
were in EU, 66%. We got only 11 Qs and 7 mults in SA; 1 LU and 3 PYs.
