Comments:
Compared to last year, I did a little better on the 2022 ARRL 160 contest. I
put in an hour longer BIC time and picked up 28 more contacts. I ran low power
this year, where last year I ran high power.
Ken, K4XL commented about me crushing him for a contact with NA7TB in AZ with my
13 dB more of power, but failed to mention that he picked up NP2J in VI when I
was calling. My real concern was NP2J faded away and I could not hear him. I
blamed that on my weak beverage, only to find out that Ken wasn't using his
beverages. I managed to pickup NP2J Saturday night for some consolation.
My first contact was Kenny, K2KW. I also worked W4CB, and W4YE. NJ4Q, w4PK,
K4YCR, and W1IE were also heard. With ED's (N3CW) big score and long BIC time,
I can't understand why I didn't hear him or I did and didn't write it down. His
call wasn't in my log, so I hope I didn't make two mistakes. With his HP, I
never had a real strong signal on the Spectrum display.
