Comments:
The All-Wire Antenna Farm at W3HKK has been modified to include a home brew
Moxon yagi made from left-overs, on a pvc mast at a towering 1/2 wavelength ht
( 16') turned by an Armstrong rotator. The Moxon turns out to be a fabulous
dx antenna, working over 95% of what it heard. Through major pile ups!
Wire antennas: 160M & 80M INV-L's (apex at 56'), 2 el vert phased arrays
for 40-20-15m.
Misc: It's great to hear 10m open again - to every place but Asia. Maybe next
year. ( Note: Ive worked some JA's during the past month but apparently wasnt
on 10 at the right time for the contest.
Rig: IC7610 to ACOM 1000 amp putting out 750 watts.
Logging: N1MM+ software.
10m Propagation was a shadow of itself, compared to the CQWW SSB contest, but
still good enough for 252 Q's 25 zones and 79 countries. Best DX included 3B8,
3B9 (2), 5R, 5W, 7Q, KH6 (4), FR, KL, TY, ZD7, ZL (2), ZS. 10M accounted for
nearly 50% of my qsos.
I also bounced around between 160-80-40-20-15M using mostly s&p, chasing
mults, in an accomodation to being 80 yrs old.
Worked two loud KH2's on 15m. Overall(all bands) worked just one UA.
Scandanavia was also slim pickings with four OH- two SM- and two LA's in the
log.
