Comments:
This was my 8th year for this contest. Knowing that I was going to
be out for most of Saturday night (granddaughter's school play) and
that there was the ATP tennis finals Sunday afternoon, I decided to
concentrate on sections rather the score.
I started about 10 local Saturday night for a couple of hours on 80
and 40, finally pulling the switch ~12:30 local with 39 sections.
I intended to get up early Sunday in my ongoing pursuit of AK on 80
(to finish 5BWAS) but slept through to 8 AM and missed my chance.
Sunday afternoon was intermittent, between tennis and the Patriots.
Late Sunday I was surprised at how many hams mentioned that I was
their first EMA! The last "new" section was ME -- thanks K1JB: I
had been chasing Joe all afternoon.
I ended with 78 sections, tying my previous best, missing: SB, MS,
WY, ND, GTA, & ONN. I did find most of these but could not break
the pileups at the time. It was my first time getting NT -- TNX
Gerry, VY1AAA! The few times I listened to 160 it was dead. Even
with only 6 Qs, it was good to see 10m back.
