First pure (not assisted) sweep. Didn't plan on it, but got NT on my 39th
qso, so started thinking about it. Finally got MAR late Sunday (2hrs before end
of contest) on 40m on my first call. After Sat PM, I figured I would spend most
of Sunday on 10m, as I had good luck there. Strangely, 10m was a dud here Sun,
so that did NOT happen. We had lake effect wind and snow here Thursday, and
took down the end of the 160-80-40m end-fed, so instead of 45 feet in the air,
it was 20. Radio stilled tuned it (thank you Yaesu), and had no problem on 80m.
Antenna for 10 to 40m is Mosley PRO-67C, which has 3 elements on 40m, it really
helps. Unfortunately, while a YCCC member, I am 20 miles outside the ARRL
circle, so I can not contribute score (no problem with CQ contests). I gave
myself a 10 minute cushion to avoid the 24 hour clock penalty. All in all, was
a great time and had lots of fun. Thanks to all for the QSOs.
