Comments:
It was a very good year for QRP and there should be some high scores. Multiple
bands being open spreads everyone out so 5 watts stands a chance of being heard,
at least some times. Missed what should have been some easy mults like EWA and
QC. Oh well. SO2R made a big difference, but I can't stay in the chair for long
hours like in the olden days so I gave up my chance to be competitive by taking
a LOT of breaks. My target was 500 Q's and a nice round score but a last minute
caller came through on my 80M run and I couldn't disappoint him. Log checking
will of course cut me down. Golden logs are not in my vocabulary.
I continue to be puzzled by how many ops copy you perfectly while others in the
same area with a relatively clear channel CQ in your face. I suspect it is in
the receivers that can't handle adjacent strong signals and overload the AGC. Or
maybe it's something between the ears of the operators.
For a completely different game I'll be VP5M in CQ WW CW. Rock on!
Thanks for the Q's.
73/72,
Jim K4QPL
