Comments:
I set up everything inside my aluminum siding "tin can" house, aiming
out the east window in the middle bedroom at an elevation of 20 feet above
ground or 300 fasl.
Aiming was very limited, 55 degrees and 110 plus 135.
I first tried with N2WK who could not rotate to me, no cigar off the back of his
beams. Then an early try with K1TEO, likewise no qso. VE3IQZ was setting up on
a hilltop at 8:45 local, and at that time I heard a loud burst of audio. I
traced it, was N2JMH in FN12 so I got a great qso with him. Was unable to work
VE3IQZ who was on much higher ground with 360 degree rotation. Then a sked at
9:15 with K1TEO, still no qso. I wanted 1 American qso and got it. I tried
aiming at VE3ZV who reported hearing me weak and in and out.
Activity was very poor for those running analog here in Ontario. It was still
fun.
Thanks to the sponsor and staff, and to all who made an effort to get qso's.
Thanks to all who participated and tried to hand out grids and qso's.
Setup:
Alinco DR-235 running 35W to a 6 elmt beam on a stand inside.
See you in the 432, similar setup but 75W from the 910H and a K1FO 22 elmt or
portions of it.
73,
Bill VE3CRU
