Comments:
One of my best September Contests thanks to the all the rovers in the area! Most
of my QSOs came from W9FZ/R, KA9VVQ/R, KC0P/R, N0HZO/R, and W0AUS/R. Thanks
guys! Band conditions were flat. No openings noticed on 6m. Even meteor scatter
was tough Sunday morning. I did pick up several all time new grids on 902!
FT8/Q65 allowed me QSOs over to MI, OH, IN, and IL which would of been nearly
impossible on SSB/CW.
My best DX on the bands were: 6m-N4SVC-EM80 (MS-1089 miles), 2m-WD9EXD-EM57
(Q65-521 miles), 222-KA9VVQ/R-EN14 (Tropo-280 miles), 432-N0PB-EM39 (Tropo-378
miles), and 902-W9FZ/R-EN16 (Tropo-297 miles), and 1296-K0AWU-EN37 (Tropo 194
miles).
50 foot tower with:
6: 7 el and stacked 4 elements (80-140 degrees) - 200w
2: 17 el - 200w
222: 16 el - 80w
432: 38 el - 50w
902: 33 el looper - 50w
1296: 45 el looper – 50w
Equipment: Elecraft K3, IC-746, FT-736R, DEMI & Q5 transverters
