Comments:
20 looked like a bust right before the contest. Was only receiving a couple of
stations 3 minutes before the start, so switched to 40. After a decent run with
46 QSOs in 40 minutes I thought to look for some multipliers on 80. It was a bit
quiet but more people started showing up - the furthest contact was Oklahoma and
I worked 11 states plus my own province. I think others would have found it
productive there.
The geomagnetic was evident on 40 with signals directly to the south like GA,
NC, SC, FL showing signs of flutter. It was strange how it masked bits of the
calls. Fortunately I've worked many of you many times and that helped, as well
as the supercheck partial. 80 didn't seem as disturbed but signals were
generally a bit weaker, except Mark N5OT in OK who was booming in here.
