Comments:
Tried all bands 3.5 - 28 MHz. With LP it was easier
matching with the old MFJ-941C tuner, allowing quick
band changes with the sloper wire.
Started 3.5 MHz CQ: just noise on the waterfall. Next
7 MHz: good signals but hard to reach the weak ones
with just the IC-7300. Even heard N3JT.
On 14 MHz signals were tempered, but nice to get Allan
VK2GR after waiting my turn. Around 0740Z some sporadic
E started to form, allowing localized skip into 9A/HG
on 21 MHz. At the end of the contest the layer spread
out for Germany. At the same time 14 MHz went very quiet.
No response on 28 MHz CQ's though...
Hope to get HP up next week, but it needs some repairs...
Solar activity is taking a break at the B/C-border (X-rays).
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
