Comments:
Was away Saturday and got home around Midnight. Turned on the rigs, didn't hear
much so only stayed on a few minutes. Got up to operate Sunday morning hoping
for some good condx. It turned out not much was happening. There were only a few
minutes of weak Es I found, almost no non-digital stations on, and average tropo
condx. Basically, just hammered away on FT8 most of the morning and off and on
in the afternoon.
I guess there were some Es Saturday but otherwise one of the poorer CQWW
weekends in quite a while in the NE. Hoping for better condx in the 222+ and
Sept contests.
One final thought. Thinking about the June contest and this contest, perhaps the
ARRL might have hit on something with the separate Analog class. While SSB/CW
activity was not like the "old" (pre-wsjtx) days, it was much better
in June than this weekend. Realize the CQWW is it's own unique event but perhaps
a solution like the ARRL now has is worth considering.
