Comments:
My 8th WPX CW, and this one was fun. My main goal, as usual,
was a personal best. Other goals were additional country-bands
(possible), AK on 80 (impossible), and improving my CW hearing.
Last year was a personal best, so I was wondering whether I
could do it again. YES I DID! Still small scores as scores go,
the last three years have seen me go from 120K, to 162K, to 205K,
with about the same amount of BIC time and not a lot of sunspot
help, so **maybe** my CW hearing is slowly getting better. I
still need to hear the exchange before I call someone, but I
usually got it on the first hearing -- progress! (Well, at least
with 3-digit SNs and <35 wpm. Over ~35wpm I usually just moved
on unless it was a mult.)
These were my best scores on 10 & 15, I got close on 20, 80 was
just OK, and 160 was empty. Sunday afternoon I basically chased
mults: since I have to hear the exchange before I call, it didn't
make sense to "waste time" with non-mult stations.
Official (60 minute) BIC time = 18:22 / Actual BIC = 12:36
