Comments:
A big shock upon arrival at the OH3BCX-location:
The shack had disappeared! I found the container
with the equipment displaced 50 meters, all cables
disconnected and no juice to feed the rigs. One
hour to build a LP-alternative with the IC-7300
in the workshop office. Lots of tricky repairs,
but ready by 1855Z on the 14 MHz 5/8 vertical
with directors. The fence was now counterpoise
since also the 20 ft sea-container had moved.
Started to call weak stations first, but that
was not smart with LP given the pile-ups. Most
was worked on 14 MHz, a few Q's on 21 MHz and
finally some minutes on 7 MHz. There was a C8
flare peaking at 1905Z and a double-humped
M1.5 flare starting at the end of the session
for the daylight zone. The Sun is active indeed
and a lot is happening on 50 MHz too, closer
to the equator.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
