Comments:
'Twarnt a fit night (or day) for man nor beast ... at least propagation wise. I
guess we better get used to it, because old buddy 'Sol' will be dumping on us
from time to time over the next few years. CMEs and other as yet unknown
hyperphysical goblins will mess up conditions and the contest calendar will just
have to cope.
I, on the other hand, have reached a point of antiquity where I have been
granted a dispensation from the little imperatives of life, the hard learned
Life's Little Lessons, Even the tyranny of the Clock and Calendar has been
relaxed somewhat. I have adopted the well known motto: If it feels good, do it
(carefully). You might be surprised at what a limited range of activity that
entails. But, I digress...
Bands were punk most of the day Saturday, as so many of you know. I didn't
start hearing solid signals till well past mid-afternoon. Even then the signals
were weak for the most part. I had to make a decision early on. As this is/was
the UDEI CW Contest I did not load up on domestic contacts -- only a few friends
whom I wanted to be in their log. After about 5 hours BIC time I decided to call
it quits. Next year I will get all those GM, EI, GW, G, and etc. QSOs that were
so conspicuously absent today.
For all that, thanks for the Qs and the efforts you made to make this a good
event. Vy 73. Vic W4VIC
