Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB did Multi-Op HP in the 2022 CQ 160 SSB test.
We hoped for a score ~like the 68.9 K claimed by N3UM and W3GB doing
Multi-Op HP in the 2020 CQ 160 SSB. No; we got 0.98X as many mults,
but just 0.76X the Q pts and 0.76X the score in 0.87X the BIC time.
We did ~3.5 hr shifts, good for 160. We each did the wee-hrs once.
After a 2219Z start N3UM got 2 fast short runs; 50 Qs in 32 min,
94.5/hr, and 54 Qs in 38 min, 85/hr. After 0030Z he got 2 slower
shorter runs; 15 Qs at 51/hr, and 29 Qs at 63/hr. Between & after the
runs he got 52 Qs clicking spots and tuning, for a total of 200 Qs at
02Z. He also got 36 near St/Pv mults + OK & ND, and 4 NA cty mults.
W5MPB clicked spots and tuned to work always-CQing stations and far
mults. From 02-03Z he got 19 Qs & AZ (our only W7 mult!), plus PJ4
& I at 10 pts and V3 at 5 pts. He then got 17 more Qs plus KS, IA, TX,
AR, & our only CA Q by QRT at 0530Z.
On again at 2145Z W5MPB found QRN high and mostly dupes on. He
scraped up 20 Qs and the QC mult by 0120Z.
N3UM began our last shift at 0153Z with condx only a bit better. He
got 6 S&P Qs, then 0210-0306Z ran for 46 Qs at 49/hr + NE, MN, & MB.
Condx were a lot better 0310-05Z; 33 Qs, just 18/hr, but 9 EU cty
mults & CO.
At the end 05-0541Z N3UM scraped up a final 9 Qs, one a 2nd HA for
10 pts. We got just 4 VE Pvs, 38 states, & DC; we missed LA, NM, SD,
& all W7 except AZ.
