Another NAQP RTTY in the books. Two hours prior to the contest I noticed the SWR
on my loop antenna was quite high. I found a wire had pulled loose from the
surge suppressor during recent high winds. Fortunately, it was a quick repair
and I didn’t lose much time. From my location in Southwestern Michigan, it
seemed like all I could work was the west coast for the first few hours
particularly on 20 meters. After 40 and 80 opened up coverage was more normal.
Somehow, I still managed to set another new personal best for overall score and
multipliers. Well, off to bed. It’s been a long day!
My gear for this operating event:
ICOM IC-7610
160 Meter H-Loop at 30-60 ft.
K9AY RX loop
Cushcraft MA5B beam at 30 ft.
N1MM+ Logger
'73 to all and hope to see you in more contests.
Bob, KE3K
