Comments:
X-rays were below B2-level for the biggest part of
the session. It started in geomagnetic quiet fashion,
but peaked to over 40 GW at the end.
An interesting experience with the 5 euro vertical
I built for ARRL DX CW for 14/21 MHz. It is hard to
compare it to the sloper wire before first installing
a relay and another tuner for an easy fast switch-over.
Anyway on 21 MHz it was interesting to raise USA-stations
with my own CQ on an empty band. I heard Mike VE9AA with
a decent signal at 1347Z, but I knew he would disappear
before I had my systems tuned up. Indeed so, like often.
I did not get a chance to try the vertical on 7 MHz, but
anyway, it is only 6 meters tall, and the sloper gets
reflection from the building and ground for good gain.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
