Comments:
QRP park portable effort (Elecraft KX3, EFHW - 36' vertical wire in oceanside
palm tree) on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. As with the last time I tried this
contest from Hawaii in 2017, I was mostly unable to work stations farther east
than the Rocky Mountains - seems like a combination of time of day/year and
sunspot levels. I wish I had a way to work 40 at night - night operating in
public parks can get creepy - I'm sure that would have been much more
productive.
I could hear the KH6 big guns working pileups on 10 and 15, but I had very
little success on those bands with my 25-30 dB disadvantage. Since the bulk of
my contacts were on 20, I decided on a single-band entry this year.
If there are ever any future team or remote-team efforts in Oahu domestic CW
contests (and ARRL DX is a domestic contest in KH6), I'd love to contribute!
73,
Bob NH6O
