Comments:
I had some good runs which made it more fun. Did about 50% S&P. My goal was
to work 1000 Qs to test the station and new antennas. Did not quite put in
enough time. Antennas worked good, but age may be catching up with me and the
Drake L7. Saturday night was not fun so I took a long break. Sunday the relay in
the L7 started to act up and receive signals were erratic. I had rewound an RF
choke and apparently did it right because other than the relay the L7 was
perfect. My second 10 meter antenna on South America should have been for 15 and
not 10.
Stations not identifying very often seems to be getting worse for me in every
contest. I guess I will just have to run more!
Rig was an Elecraft K3 driving a Drake L7 at 750 watts output.
Antennas: Inverted L for 160. Two dipoles for 10 at right angles, Single 20 and
80 meter dipoles plus a 40 meter dipole for 40 and 15.

Don
