Comments:
Some cockpit errors in this one. First my primary 160 antenna went kaput for a
still unknown reason. Have to troubleshoot some more. Fortunately, my 1/4 wave
40M sloper at 50 feet loads fine, with very sharp tuning of course. Only problem
was that I forgot to throw the switch that goes between the tuner and the beam.
I operated the first night working thru the beam! It tuned OK with the tuner/amp
but I wasn't being heard very well. Next night I threw the switch and everything
improved. Sadly conditions weren't as good. No EU jheard/worked. Thanks to those
who pulled me through. Better luck next year I always say. 73
