Comments:
Operating from home is very difficult on 160. This SP was a bit better than
last year, but still "reverse alligator," many I could hear could not
hear me. Got five 5-pointers, including MN, MO, TX and OK. Almost got KL7SB
but he couldn't copy my grid and gave up. Furthest station heard was PJ2T but he
didn't hear me. Thanks to those who pulled me out of noise.
TX Antenna: Alpha-Delay 160/80/40 half-sloper using grounded roof mounted tower
with KT34A as loading. Only about 30' high and on the side of a hill. Requires
a lot of loading in MFJ-989C and frequent retuning to squeeze 800w forward power
into it.
RX Antenna: Wellbrook loop
