Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement
community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. For the 2021 CQ WW CW,
I (N3UM) was the only CW op available. I did SOHP Assisted.
My goal was to beat the 905 Qs and 983 K pts I claimed in 2016, the
last year I did SOHP, not Multi-2. I did that, in 18.6 vs 24 hrs BIC.
Great condx helped; SFI of 90 vs 80, and Kp of 0-3, not 3-4 as forecast.
At 0Z start on 40 M I ran for 18 Qs in 24 min, but clicking spots was
faster; 146 Qs in 2.6 hrs, most EUs. On 80 M I clicked for 103 Qs in
2.2 hrs by 0522Z, then 12 160-M Qs by 0540Z QRT to sleep, with 279 Qs
and 225 mults.
Back on at 15Z I clicked 20-M spots for 83 Qs in 83 min, again
mostly EUs, and quit for lunch at 1625Z. In the end, 78% of my
QSO points were EUs.
Back 1850-2132Z I got 25 Qs + AK, ZL, KH6, JA, and some AFs on
20 M, and 54 Qs + AK, VK, and SAs & NAs on 15 M, but no EUs.
After supper 00 to 02Z QRT I ran at 100/hr for 91 of 98 Qs on
40 M, then got 25 Qs and 30 mults on 80 and 160 M.
Back at 1215Z I got my 2nd good run, 90/hr for 103 of 119 Qs on
20 M by 1340Z. Then 1358-1609Z I fast-clicked for 87 Qs on 15 M;
many EUs, some AFs, and ~50 mults. Welcome back, sunspots.
Back at 1906Z after lunch and chores, I got 53 Qs on 20 M, 11 Qs
on 15 M, and 4 Qs on 10 M + 17 mults in 1.8 hrs, then 77 Qs and
5 mults in 1.3 hrs on 40 m. At 2213Z, 7 Qs past my goal with few live
spots left, I quit to eat supper on time. On all bands I got 110
distinct countries, and 30 of the 40 zones, missing some in AS and AF.
