Comments:
This contest was a great opportunity to put together pieces of my station give
it a workout. The bands were not as crowded as I've sometimes seen as the Flex
6600m did a great job helping me separate the multitude of stations on the band.
I used a Hex Beam and found it worked well, even at my lower heights. I used
N1MM+ for logging and VE7CC to keep aware of what was spotted.
I felt ten and fifteen meters just were not active enough to warrant leaving 20
meters. That may have been a mistake but I also suspect I missed the peaks on
those bands due to limited time to operate.
My biggest limitation was low power. I heard many stations clearly which just
couldn't copy my station. If I had more power I'm certain I would have
significantly completed many more Q's. In all, the contest was great. I learned
a great deal about my equipment and the software and am looking forward to new
challenges.
Dan, KE0OR
