Comments:
Things seemed to go pretty well in this one. It was nice to have 15 open but
the propagation was "spot-light". I felt loud at times on 80 and 40 -
just had to use good judgement regarding the band to be on at a given time! Both
were very productive for me. I was able to get some small runs going on all four
bands.
I'm not impressed with a few big gun stations that feel they need over 2 kHz on
each side of "their freq" and will run you off if you dare get too
close - even if you are QRP. There just isn't enough band space for each
station to monopolize 5 kHz of the spectrum. Most folks have 1.8 kHz filters -
I do!
I never heard a MAR station. I heard a couple OK stations but they were
S&Ping and I wasn't lucky enough to have one call me during my brief runs. I
heard VY1CO on Saturday evening but he was a little light and the pile-up was
nasty. I was lucky in stumbling across some needed mults on Sunday and able to
get through the pile-ups to work them.
Thanks to all the ops that pulled my weak signal out especially on 80 and 40.
Fortunately I didn't hear the dreaded "I need it all again" very
often!
