Comments:
Most likely the USA-Europe path was weak on 14 MHz,
as there was 7 MHz activity already at the start of
SST and not just in the last couple of minutes. The
biggest break in responses on my CQs was 22 minutes.
One noticeable factor was the absence of QSB on the
signals, which may be due to the ongoing Proton-event
following yesterday's X1-flare. Otherwise the X-ray
background level is below B5, which does not promise
28 MHz DX-conditions for CQ WW DX SSB this weekend,
at least for our Nordic latitudes. In addition severe
geomagnetic storming is expected at least for Saturday.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
