Comments:
How . . . exciting.
Sure I was on FM, with 20 W. However I did a lot of listening, and a lot of
calling for quite a while, in the dark. Yes, a crappy set up, on the second
highest, close, drive-up, and car portable. Not as much fun as being able to
simply turn off the rig and walk to the kitchen, bed-room, etc. Was nearly an
hour striking, driving home, and bringing the gear in. <pout> Do another
Sprint? Probably. Upgrade the gear, and station ability? Probably. After I
pretty much gave up I discovered a new "Brazilian satellite pirate"
frequency. Good sigs, and a bit surreal.
Onwards and upwards. At least with 432 MHz I have SSB and much more of an
antenna. 73, John VA7OTC Victoria, BC CN88
