Comments:
Well, that was an interesting experience. Because of a problem with my monitor
(of all things!), all CW was sent with the paddle using a WinKeyer USB. During
the latter part of WAE on Sunday, the monitor kept going off and I'd have to
turn it on again. I thought (and still think) it was RF while using 1.5 KW and
the 88' center fed zepp antenna. Last night I re-routed the line from the
monitor to the computer and relocated the anti RF device on that cable and hoped
it had cured the problem. Testing on 20M last night seemed OK. But, today,
when I hit the F1 key the first time, the monitor went off. And it consistently
that every time I hit F1. Once I hit H2 and it didn't go off. Anyway, in order
to log, I had to send CW manually. A good exercise for my right hand, but a bit
tiring Apologies for bad CW sending. On the plus side, with full QSK it was
easier to stop sending when a caller was off time calling and easier to send a
few personal words of greeting. Harder to switch between the dipole, which
favors west, and the zepp, which favors north east. That requires two key
strokes with the Green Heron antenna switch using the computer. Anyway, lots of
fun despite the difficulties. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
