Thanks Ray, W2RE and Lee, WW2DX and Richard 9A1TT for a great weekend!
The WAE has always been one of my favorite contests - the QTC's are a great
format. The lack of sunspots and the guaranteed afternoon thunderstorms at
my Arizona mountaintop QTH have put a damper on things the last few years,
so 4 years ago I started remoting into the RHR Maine stations for WAE CW.
Last year all the W1 RHR stations were being worked on (during the short
summer) so 30 minutes before the contest I decided to go with 9A/KO7SS and
see the EU perspective. Copying QTC's for 36 hours is mind numbing :)
I got my 9A callsign in January 2021 and have spent lots of hours DXing
from 9A1TT.
With just one radio I decided begging for QTC's was the best strategy. A
big thank you to everyone :)
The station was summertime noisy, S-3 to S-9, and the beverages weren't
available, so 40/80 was as expected. The big disappointment was 15M. It
never opened to the US on Sunday, at least from 9A....and 10M was worse.
