K3/10 at 5 watts to two selectable dipoles at right angles fed with ladder lines
and Matchboxes. QRN, QRN, QRN here as two thunderstorms passed overhead Saturday
PM. Had to pull the plug several times. 40 and 80M were wiped out with the
noise, so stayed on 15 and 20M. Decided to try nothing but calling CQ this
time, and the results are predictable: rates of 5 QSO's per hour using QRP.
Enjoyed the experiment in the limited time on the air, and reinforced my belief
that search and pounce is the way to go when QRP in one of these tests. Oh well,
winter is coming, when QRN moves away to bother someone else. C U next time,
73, Dan ke0tt
