Comments:
A day with heat-related backlash and Aurora.
Temperatures near 34 C melted the glue on my
straps for the sloper wire fiber fishing-rod
support, so that required a quick fix for
the 1900Z session. The 1300Z happening was
missed due to a fifth unfortunate attempt
to repair the car's A/C.
Aurora hit some hours ago up to 50 gigawatts,
and it made the condx in the 1900Z session
very dynamic. Initially I had big trouble
reaching the LZ's and even strong EA's were
hard to reach. The only DX was VE3EJ on 14
MHz apart from a strong PT88CDC. Many CWT
callers were CQ'ing on top of each other.
I got only one answer on my CQ's during the
full hour by Peter M0RYB on 7 MHz. Maybe my
lowest score for a full hour session at this
time of day and season. But always interesting.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856
