Comments:
"challenging" is a word that is becoming overused these days --
challenging times, challenging economic environment, challenging job market,
challenging -- but that's the adjective I'd use to describe the weekend.
Uber-challenging, actually. Extremely difficult to hear and be heard. And even
my best efforts to get runs going when I could find a place to call CQ were
slowed by QSB as well as QRM, especially on 20m, which was very, very crowded.
Given considerable auroral creep, I didn't hold out much hope for any EU in the
log so I was quite amazed to be picked up as much as I was. And operators really
tried hard to ensure that sent and received numbers were accurately entered.
Slows down the rate, but better not to lose points and/or a good mult, right?
This was not my best outing in WPX SSB, not by a long shot. Naturally, I wish
the pileups had lasted longer and the run rates had been higher. But it is what
it is. Knowing that CONDX might be "challenging", I set no numerical
goals. My objective was to have some pileup fun.
I really appreciate all the Qs and all the friendly "Hi Rebecca!" that
accompanied so many Qs.
Stay well. Stay safe. See you all again soon.
