Comments:
This was one of the more frustrating contests I’ve ever entered. The causes
were poor band conditions Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, plus what
seemed like a shortage of DX stations but not of North American hams. The result
was pileups on even the most common EU stations--a slog for my modest,
low-altitude antennas. I struggled, especially Friday night when competition was
at fever pitch. The 15 meter band was partially open Saturday but not Sunday,
and 10m never opened--at least, not in my receiver. Activity on 80m was on the
light side. The “heavy lifting” was left to 20m and 40m.
Maybe better next year . . .
