Comments:
Just a 16 hour second day effort here, family and work stuff Friday and much of
Saturday.
No need to go into detailed comments about the propagation in the contest,
everyone has already done that. Earlier in the contest season it appeared things
may be coming back around, the high bands were starting to perk up with a tiny
bit of sunspot action. In the last couple of contests however, that has all
mostly went away. Band breakdown says it all as far as where the action was for
me (and lots of others) - 20 meters. A bit of spotlight propagation on 10 to
SA.
Just a side note, 80 meters ssb is always rough with the 'frequency owners' very
prevalent. Trying to work a JA Sunday sunrise, then a group gets on 1kc away and
ruined the QSO, said there was a QSO in progress. This was even below 3800.
Something like this happens just about every ssb contest that involves 80. Out
of the entire year, the couple of nights with big ssb contest activity on 80
seems to ruin the world of these folks. I am sure they had a lot to talk about
that was vastly different than the night before hihi. Oh well, what do you
do...
Best 73's all,
Bryan
