Comments:
The plan was to work the first night only. The NAQP RTTY turned out to be a dud,
which gave me more time for me this one.
While I had success in the CW outing, I had no illusions for this one, as 160m
phone with a cloud warmer antenna is a rough road to follow.
Thanks to the cajoling of N3QE, W2CDO and NS3T, I ran 60% of the time in the CW
contest with good results. This time, I ran 85% with better results in a shorter
period of time. I hit a personal run rate high of 78/hr and some other good, if
shorter runs.
My limitation is my mediocre antenna. For all the "you're loud"
comments there were lots more who I could barely hear, or not hear at all. Being
an alligator is not fun.
The only DX was KP2. Only Arizona in the west, and Texas in 5-land. The
Canadians were limited to NB, ON, QC and PE.
It was a fun 8 hours, indeed!
73,
