Comments:
This year's band condx were poorish compared to last year when I had 300 more
Q's and 80 more DX countries in the same 24 time period. Band highlights:
Saturday morning on 80m and 40m were good into Asia with loud JA, VK/ZL, RA0 and
YB. Went to 20m and found we had very intense auroral signals from EU - but,
they sure were loud! I was able to work many EU with first call - you just had
to be patient with copying the auroral signals! It reminded me of so many
auroral VHF openings which most 2m enthusiasts love to work long distance
stations. The rest of Sat was good but Sunday was pretty poor. - For DX
highlight, worked XV1X on 40m for a first on that band, and later ZD7BG (first
ever ZD7 in 60 years of hamming! Heard HZ1TT on 20m and 40m but pileup was way
too deep for me to make it through the east coasters.
73 Ken, W0ETT
Rig: IC756pro3 and THP 500w to yagis and verticals
