Comments:
Murphy 3 K8TE 1 Walking into the shack Saturday morning, I found the PC locked
up. It took a hard shut down and a cold boot was not the way I had hoped to
start the day. Next, one K3 was suddenly deaf. The antennas tested find and
the TX output was normal. Swapping out one K3 for another didn’t go well
either. The PC could not communicate with the replacement K3 which apparently
developed an RS-232 interface failure.
While able to make contacts with a newly installed 6600M, I hadn’t yet
interfaced it with the PC nor N1MM+. I was able to make enough contacts (two in
this event) to qualify each of this weekend’s State QSO Party Challenge
events. I hope watching the weekend’s sporting event goes better! This seems
like a good time to accomplish the planned shack disassembly, repair
yesterday’s problems, put the new desk in place, and re-install all the gear
along with the new antenna and bandpass filters.
