SOAPBOX: We used our 12 hours of setup time well - erecting some 11 antennas -
some in some beautiful tall trees. Maybe not an East Coast style score, but
pretty good for up here in the corner of the US. Rod, WE7X did a fantastic job
with VHF/UHF and wins the prize for setting up the largest number of antennas at
6 (7 if you count a substitute part way through). Doug, NR5W, did fantastic
work on HF with CW - convincing the folks running the 160 CQ CW Test to give a
WFD exchange - easier on day two! WR5J, Curt was trying all the modes and
especially filling out the Band/Mode matrix for digital contacts. We are not
vegan and we had to kill a few mosquitoes, but otherwise, totally positive.
There was snow just above the camp on the hillsides. It never came into camp
while we were operating from the open pavilion - rain was abundant, but no snow.
We will be back! Thanks for all the fun and all the Qs.
