Comments:
Thanks again to Tim, N6WIN, for the use of his super station. Also big thank you
to K6LL for pushing me to get on. On Monday I had decided I was going to skip
this contest, but Dave's enthusiasm got the best of me and I made the 6 hour
drive over here to make the most out of what Wick can offer. I didn't arrive
until 1am on Friday night, so we put off all the station set up until Saturday
morning. I wasn't worried since everything worked perfectly last weekend, but
when I sat down to test things out, nothing was working! It turns out we had a
bad GHE unit but luckily Tim had a back up unit. Also Jeff W2FU came to the
rescue and assisted us with trouble shooting. I was finally 100% ready about 20
minutes before the contest. Not gonna lie, I was a nervous wreck up until that
point. Once we got the GHE issue under control, the station performed
flawlessly. My goal for every contest is to walk away feeling satisfied with the
results and I can honestly say that I wouldn't change anything that I did.
Just like CW I used 3 IC 7610s and they performed flawlessly. Radio 3 once again
saw limited use, but I did make quite a few Q's on it during the contest. A
huge congrats to Marty, NN1C, for the win. Part of my motivation for doing this
contest was to beat him, but it wasn't meant to be this time. He should be
really proud of this effort especially knowing that I had zero limitations here
and I really maxed out the score to the best of my abilities.
Thanks for all the QSO's and the many QSY's!
73,
Dan N6MJ

Green Heron Everyware switching worked great driving OK2ZAW stack matches, K7NV
prop-pitches, and 80m Tornado tuner. The K6AM Skunkworkz Seekrit black boxes
continue to be the center of our 2BSIQ/SO2R/Multi setup and held up to high
standards as expected.
