Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB operated Multi-2 in Jan. 2021 NAQP CW.
In 2020 NAQP CW we got 895 Qs and claimed 157.5 K, and in 2019
961 Qs and 163.4K. We were not sure we could beat either score in
2021, but we did; we claimed 306 more points than our 2019 best,
with 4 fewer mults but 25 more Qs. SFI up a few points, Kp of
0 or 1, and 12 hrs. BIC helped, as did lots of hams home and QRV.
As is usual for us on CW, N3UM always ran for bulk Qs while W3GB
clicked and tuned for mults and CQ-only stations. W3GB got 67% of
our mults, while N3UM got 71% of our Qs.
After the 18Z start N3UM got 251 Qs on 20 M by 2212Z, 61/hr in
far-West Sts/Pvs, then had non-ham duties for 2 hr. W3GB 18-0013Z
got 113 Qs and many close mults on 40 M, and all 10 of our Qs and
4 mults on 15M.
From 0020-03Z N3UM got 230 Qs on 40 M at 86/hr, while W3GB got
76 Qs and tens of near St/Pv mults on 80 M. From 03-06Z W3GB got
all our 84 Qs and 30 mults on 160 M, while N3UM got 218 Qs on
80 M, at 78 Qs/hr.
Combined rates on the low bands in the 01-03Z hrs. were 111, 114,
and 119 Qs, but “only” 99 and 92 Qs in the 04 and 05Z hrs. From 01Z
to QRT we went from 12 Qs behind to 25 Qs ahead of our 2019 best.
On all bands, we got DC and all 50 states except ND. We got all VE
Pvs except NL, NT, NU, and YT.
