Comments:
Well I was REALLY looking forward to running my new (to me -- tnx Lee, KY7M).
Due to the time of the year and grandchildren visiting, I didn't get around to
setting it up until Saturday afternoon. I had to completely dismantle my station
to make room for it, but i finally got it all set up about 0045Z. I fired up the
rig and waited for the amp meters to change color. Then it was time! I jumped on
160, selected my vertical, lowered the output of my radio to 20W and hit the
key. "PHZZZZT" said the amp and promptly died. Worried I'd killed the
beast I decided to run the contest barefoot. Did much better than I thought I
would. Even worked ZF9CW, who was about 90 over S9!
BTW, I spent Sunday trying to troubleshoot the amp without any luck. That's
because every single time I fired it up it worked flawlessly. I'll take it.
