Comments:
Getting on early was of little use.One station worked just after the 1500 gun
was N0UY, a neighbor 35 miles down the road. Came back at 2200 but from then to
about 0200 few stations could hear me and, with only 19 Qs, I was afraid this
was going to be just another 160 contest in northwest Minnesota!
After 0200 things came around, I could work most of what I could hear and,
occasionally, I could even hear EU but they were all S&P and never strong
enough to hope for a QSO. Best DX was ZF9CW with no other Caribbean or SA heard.
Since I am not a wee hours person I became very sleepy a couple of time during
the night and had to walk away from the rig. Sleep finally got me at 1130.
In the final 45 minutes I worked 44 Qs and managed one 17 minute run of 21 Qs.
That was a treat! I worked one station of the three I could hear just before
1500 Sunday for my 164 QSO total in 106 different grids. I think my best result
ever in a Stew and a lot of fun.
