Comments:
Nice to see the 10m band definitely more alive than last year. Caribbean were
the only DX stations I've worked, no Europe or Asia - hopefully next year I'll
see them. Worked using my favourite 70/30 tactics : 70% S&P, 30% run.
Results were OK, especially during bad propagation hours. My E-W Inv-V dipole
worked well even into SA, next time I'll try to make it a flat dipole, and add a
second one S-N on a switch.
Interesting effect observed last hour today - a whole dead 10m band suddenly
wakes up for 5...10 seconds, and I can hear stations in my 10m skip, like AL.
Today is Geminides max, so I suspect it was a result of meteor scatter. I have a
plenty of MSK144 QSOs on 6m but never seen anything like that on 10m. Very
interesting.
Hope to work ARRL 10m and 160m contests next year, so different bands and so
different behavior but lots of fun always.
