Comments:
Limited time this year - wanted to make a few points for the club. Condx
seemed pretty poor, especially for DX. Hadn't been on 160M much this season,
and RX antennas needed fixing - and no time to repair before contest. Got
them fixed on Saturday afternoon. My trusty Inverted "L" with 3
elevated radials which worked well last season wasn't cutting the mustard this
year. Felt weak - lots of guys CQing in my face. Not sure what is going on,
but it is a temporary antenna till the "real" 160M antenna goes up
some day. Also, my local skimmer kept cratering - must be getting some RF in
from somewhere as I've never had that problem.
Missed VO VY1/VE8 and KP4. Heard 3 PR stations calling folks, but never found
them CQing and couldn't get them to answer my CQ's. DX worked: ZF V3 CO XE
C6. Never found any EU the times I was on, and didn't wake up for JA/Pacific.
Thanks to all for the QSO's
73, Gator
