Thanks for all the contacts! Great conditions for the most part and 10M had some
good surprises. EU seemed to be better pointed E than typically 45*. We had some
great runs on 10M for USA on both days, Sunday was even better.
3 operators, 1 on-site. Edgar (N2GK) operated from NJ and Al (WP3C) from TX.
Paul (WP3TT) was on-site and was also the manual band pass filter changer for
the team! We used SS to test the radios and equipment, as well as our code!
Some highlights are listed below and additional comments:
Highlights:
Everything worked for remote operations. A big thanks to Al for making this all
possible and setting the team up for success. Paul even assisted with testing
RBN and a new cluster that mixes RBN and DX spots, as well as putting select
filters to verify RBN calls before they appeared on the band map. This was great
for our MULT station and to keep things active! The only thing that is manual at
the moment is the BPFs, which I think that was the hardest part was me staying
up and taking short naps to change bands for the radios!
Being called by 8Q and E2A near the end of the contest!
10M had some life, although inconsistent, it made the MULT station fun for 10M
and even run some on 10M. I can only imagine the fun with 10/15 at its peak!
40M was great between 2-430AM local time. Both nights we pointed North and had
stations from VK, EU, AF, NA, JA at the same time. Everyone was loud!
Comments:
What was the RADAR on 15M Sunday morning for about 5-10 minutes?? It wiped out
30 KC of bandwidth and was +30/40!
Great participation, long live CW!
I noticed a large difference in running stations higher and lower in the band.
Although I love working higher on bands, my initial feedback is that our runs
were much less higher in the band. Other factors too???? Perhaps...
First time in the M/S category and it was fun and unique!
We look forward to working you all in the next contest. We will make
improvements for the next contest to do even better next time, but we are very
proud of this score!
