Comments:
Missed AK, MAR, NL, NT, PE, and QC.
I knew I would probably miss some provinces, but was really hoping to get all US
sections and states. I don't remember seeing any spots for AK, but looking back
through the spots with SH/DX around 22:00UTC Sunday afternoon, I see that KL7SB
was around on 15m up until 19:00 something UTC. OH well! My last lower 48 state
was ID and I finally worked it just after 22:00UTC and called it a contest. My
head was hurting from all the SSB noise. A double (clean) Woodford Reserve
afterwards helped to ease the pain.
One thing I noticed more of this year in SS phone was seemingly more issues with
operators VOX settings, drop outs. Some ops were advised of the issues,
acknowledged knowing of the problems, and then continued on their merry way
operating with the same issues.
Saturday night propagation on the bands were very challenging. Sunday afternoon
seemed better, at least on 40, but 20 was still squirrely.
I did manage a couple quality runs on 40m Sunday. I chuckled a bit after I saw
someone spot me, and within 1-2 minutes a pile descended on me. What made me
chuckle was, most all were either "A" or "B" class stations
:) Maybe just a coincidence ;)
Lots of SMC in the log. Thanks the Qs and spots.
