Comments:
Ah, pretty sorry this morning. The WaterPik hose broke a few minutes before
1300... well, that's happened before and as I recall it can be replaced. And
what's a wet shirt sleeve?
My temporary antenna, an MFJ G5RV-Jr, will handle 80m with the Palstar AT4K
manual tuner (I haven't dared try more than 600w). Although I have the amplifier
set to use its ATU on 40, I forgot that and left the Palstar in the line... a
no-no, says SPE. Lots of trouble, including a "High SWR" shutdown, on
40, but I did work Rob and Hank (thanks for getting up early!). All good with
the ATU on 20m but I only spent 10 minutes there.
The HF9V is lying at the foot of the bushes in the back yard; I'm still sort-of
working on ground-mounting it.
Meanwhile, thanks for the (slow!) QSOs, guys, and 73! --- John K3GHH
